Happy Due Date...Happy Baby!

So, Saturday was my due date. I am happy to say that I didn't make it. :)
Baby Capri arrived at 3:50 on Thursday afternoon. She was 7 lbs 7 oz and 18 inches long (if I remember correctly). She was soooo much different from Rome. I will tell you all later, but it was a very good change. We are now home and all very happy. She is the easiest baby. Just wants to hang out, even when she is awake. Josh loves to just hold her. It is so cute! She is so cute too!

Happy Mommy

Happy Daddy

Not quite so happy...

Wide Awake

Ready to go home

Happy Family

What a good Big Brother!

40 Weeks

Cheater, cheater, pumpkin eater!
No, that is not how the rhyme goes. But I was accused of cheating by my own mother. I still don't care. I made it to 40 weeks and I am done! I talked my midwife into inducing me. Really, I was having problems. My back has been bothering me for the last 7 months and this week has started to go out on me. It is really painful and I have gotten stuck on the floor twice. Josh had to come rescue me because I couldn't move. Anyway, I have an appointment at the hospital early tomorrow morning. I am so excited! I get a baby tomorrow! It feels sort of surreal, but I am sure reality will kick in pretty quick right along with the drugs.
Now, I better go take a nap because I am pretty sure I won't be sleeping much tonight. How can you when you know you are going to meet your little girl in less than 24 hours?

Am I big enough yet?

No, I didn't edit out any of my beautiful stretch marks. She gave such pretty ones around my poor belly button. It is her favorite spot to kick really hard. Although, she must know that is it her last day because she has been particularly brutal kicking my ribs for the last couple hours.

Baby Tea Party

I did not need another baby shower, but I did want a party with my friends. It was getting pretty late, so I decided to do it myself. And so, I did. A Baby Tea Party. I told everyone they didn't need to bring presents, but of course they did anyway. It was so nice and so much fun! Everyone brought a treat to share and we sat around and ate and talked about babies and labor and parenting. It was exactly what I wanted. As a bonus, it totally got me through week 39 of being pregnant. Something to look forward to besides waiting....

The brownie hearts I made. I also made punch and heart shaped ice-cubes. What can I say, I like a theme.

The guests

Rome helping with presents

He had fun too running back and forth between Trish and Penny

The gifts that I didn't need, but appreciate anyway. A girl cannot have too many pink outfits or cute shoes!

Maternity Photos

I decided that if this was going to be my last baby (in my mind it is still a discussion, but Josh is done), then I was going to get pretty pictures taken. I thought I looked so good this entire pregnancy anyway. I did wait too long to do them, but still think they turned out pretty good. I found this lady that lives just around the corner and is in another ward and does beautiful pictures for lots of my friends. Her name is Kelly and her website is here. Her prices are way better than any studio and she does a great job! So, if you need pics taken and live in Grand Junction, I would totally give her a call. I had a great time and am soo glad I did it.

The funny thing about all of these is she kept telling me to look at my belly, but the angle she had me at I could hardly see it. So, really I am just pretending.

Last Week Ugh!

Yes, it is my last week of being pregnant. *Technically* Yes, I am miserable. I can't move or get comfortable and Rome still wants me to play on the floor with him. Um, sorry buddy, that is not happening. Josh is driving me crazy trying to *schedule* things. Yea, that doesn't work either. I feel like kicking him about 20 times a day. Kind of like baby girl does to me all day long. Still. My poor belly button is so sore! I also like how my ticker says my last week is 10 days long. Really? Are you against me too? I told my friend that I am going into hiding for a while, like the next 2 months. I just feel a bit anti-social. I don't want anybody else asking me when I am due and to hang in there. I know they mean well. I just don't want to hear it. I feel like I have been very patient up until now. Even with all of the back pain and sickness and heartburn and not sleeping and everything else. I am trying to wait nicely until Saturday when my midwife says I am due. (I think it should be on Wed. and so does the hospital, but that is okay) After that, I can't promise anything. I already told her that I am not going to wait another week to see if I go on my own. That stunk last time so lets just help me out here. Okay? Okay. Baby girl should cooperate now and be nice. Anytime...

Off to Bed...Haha!

Insomnia is my new trick. It sneaks up on me even when I am really tired. Like today. At least I got a nap for 2 hours this afternoon. That should keep me going through 3 hours of church during lunchtime. I just need to stop thinking about baby things and being uncomfortable and how Huge I am getting.
A list maybe, of things I should not keep thinking of every day and night.
baby girl, baby names, baby clothes, moving furniture, washing baby clothes that I don't have, do I really need more baby clothes? will my friends notice that I didn't have a shower, do I really care? yes that makes me cry, labor ugh, will she be nice and come early or do I really have to wait 4 more wEeKs, Getting baby stuff out of the garage, tackling the garage, bugging Josh to tackle the garage, then bugging him to put it back the Right way, finally throwing away the boxes from Christmas, how do we keep missing garbage day? Rome not sleeping, me not sleeping, I wish I were sleeping, sewing, sewing projects, keep looking up more sewing projects, doesn't do me any good if my machine isn't working, going to borrow my friends machine, going crazy with boredom and still have TONS to do, finish tree skirt, Turkey placemats, busy book for Rome, car seat cover, cover mom's old glider, more and more, I really am just torturing myself, should work on baby announcements, what kind of paper, what colors, what to put on it, baby names? other errands to run too, shouldn't leave the house too often it makes me tired, have more baby clothes to return and exchange, maybe I should make cookies, I just made cookies, sick of movies on the couch every night, tired of reading books that I haven't finished, what else is there to do again, yup these last weeks just drag on and on, now if only I could get to sleep...

32 and 36

I missed my 32 Week post. So, here it is. I thought I was pretty small.

Well, she has grown and totally made up for it. I am huge and I feel like it.

Thankfully my back pain has gotten better. I am not sleeping very well but I am just uncomfortable. I am trying to get out and walk more. Hopefully that will help her to show up sooner. Or, I can just hope.

This is Rome giving the Baby hugs. So cute!
He also shows us his 'baby' to tickle.

28 Weeks

Yea, this was 2 weeks ago. I thought you needed an update. I am still not very big, but I definitely feel full ALL day long. I also wish that little sister would decide to be head down and not kick my sensitive parts all day. It hurts little girl!

Seriously, clothes don't do it justice.

Belly Up

Here are some comparisons of my beautiful 6 month belly.
This is the difference a day makes:
Morning Night
Yea, it totally gets bigger by the end of the day. Maybe that is why I only feel fat and tired at night. Lately, I pick up toys in the morning. It is just so much easier!
Baby Rome Baby Girl
I think I am smaller. Those are the same pants and both taken in the afternoon, just btw. It probably helps that she doesn't like when I eat chocolate. I still do though, just in very small doses. I hope she gets over that.

Just a Beautiful Belly pic for you. Really, how many times in your life can you revel in feeling fat? Huh? Okay, its baby fat. But seriously, not many, and I just love it!

Anxiety Dreams

Ever since I found out I was pregnant I have been having trouble sleeping. I am tired and lay down and then my brain says,"Uh, uh. I am awake and now we should think about disasters! Mwahahaha!!" Okay, it doesn't laugh, but you get the picture. I am awake for hours thinking about crazy and completely unrealistic disasters. Like earthquakes and zombie takeovers and murderous lunatics stalking our neighborhood. These are strange enough, but what bothered me was my reaction. I didn't think about what I would DO if these things happened. No, I just thought about what would happen to me, like I could do nothing to stop or change it. Very disturbing. I am an action person. I NEED to DO something. I figured that it was just being pregnant that caused these unusual dreams because you can't do anything about it. You can't make it go any faster or slower. (Let me tell you, the last few weeks just KILL me!) Also, after Rome was born, anxiety was my biggest symptom. I knew things would be okay, but I was so worried about doing anything and everything. All of that worrying made me very tired. So, I figure this might just be early postpartum anxiety keeping me awake.
Then it creeped into my dreams. When I do sleep I have lots of troubling dreams. Dreams about accidents and floods and trips with out shoes. I didn't put them together until today. I was looking up some dream meanings on the internet because my books are all packed up. All of the things I remember from my dreams mean scary and ominous things to come. Ugh, great. So, my entire pregnancy has been telling me that things are going to get worse. I have no idea how, just worse.
Add in the reality of this week. I have been very confident about the whole economy stuff and how things are going to turn around and everything will work out eventually. Then, the reality of Josh taking a pay cut and my doing bills and going CRAP. We really have to cut stuff out. I feel really lucky that I got all my Christmas shopping done, because it certainly would not happen on our new budget. I know we will be okay. We have everything we need. I have great food storage. Rome has clothes and shoes. Yes, I need baby girl clothes. But, if all else fails, I am sure I can find someone that has clothes I can use. I know this all in my brain and in my heart, but having anxious dreams and thoughts every night is sure not helping. I am positive that when we talked about having another baby that it was not supposed to be dripping with troubles, anxiety and worries. I just really hope that all of this won't color my memories of my sweet new baby.

Today's Favorite

What has pregnancy brain done for you today?
I got face wash in my hair.
I was in the shower and I put this stuff in my hair and thought, "that is not very much shampoo. Why did I do that? Wait, didn't I shampoo my hair already? Yea, I think I did. So, what was I just doing? Oh, yea. Washing my face. Uh, Oops."
I guess my hair just need some extra oil-control today.

Big Day Baby

Yesterday was a BIG day at our house.
Josh was really excited.
I was a little apprehensive because I had planned a lot of activities.
Rome was tired because he missed his nap.
(If you want to skip to the news and pics at the bottom, I won't feel bad.)

Let's start with Dinner
I made a delicious chicken, broccoli and bacon quiche. Well, it was Bisquick. I didn't think Josh would like it because it was QUICHE (how ferret-y) and it had vegetables in it. Yes, they were covered in bacon and cheese. Well, Rome hated it, but Josh loved it. He even ate it again for breakfast. I think that was the best dinner I have made it a while. I thought it was quite tasty too.

Before Dinner
I was supposed to take the dogs to the vet to get their shots. I missed my appointment on Monday because I made it for nap time. Why would I do that? Anyway, I was still working on dinner. So, Josh offered to take them for me. Ahhh! Thank you Honey! He said they were great and didn't even complain when they had to get shots. Good dogs.
Except, Zeus has been puking since yesterday. Talk about Yuck. Thor will go outside or on the tile. Zeus just stays put and pukes everywhere. Poor sick doggy! But really gross.

Nap Time
Josh stayed home with Rome who did not want to sleep. I put him down at 2 and he cried until Josh got him up again. He finally got him to sleep at 3 or 3:30. So, at least he got a little nap. I went to my second Physical Therapy appointment. It was with a different office this time. They said they will work with my insurance which is great because THEY are being difficult. I have called the insurance number so many times in the last few weeks that I almost know my account number by heart. This new office is the second PT office that I finally got out of them. They only gave me one choice (who I saw before) and she is too busy to fit me in. No good for physical therapy. Anywho, this new lady was so super great! She figured out what was wrong, gave me easy things to do and then adjusted me (which totally felt like a massage) so I feel completely better! Plus, she said if it helps and doesn't move again then I will only have to see her once or twice. Great, less to pay the insurance and I feel better. Well, I messed it up today, but I felt normal, with no pain, for a good 4 hours yesterday. I am so impressed and I currently love her!

Lunch Time
We got home really late. Rome was really hungry and cranky. I ate leftover homemade pizza. Rome picked at his meal. Go figure. He is starving, but not going to really eat.

Morning
We got up, ate breakfast. I got to shower.
Wait, wait! I missed something. Oh, yea, my doctor's appointment. It was supposed to be at 10:30 so we left at 10. We got there early and waited. The toys were not in the lobby. Rome was tired because 10 is usually nap time. And we waited some more. I got out my emergency fruit snacks and then after 45 minutes we got to go wait in a room. At least the toys were there. We finally got our turn for the ultrasound room. Rome was in meltdown mode and wanted Mommy. Not even a sucker could make him happy. He cried almost the whole time. I got to see all kinds of blurry baby stuff. Little one was not cooperating. We did get some pics, but not very good. Poor Josh had to hold a crying Rome. He pretty much missed the whole blurry awesome-ness of ultrasound-ing. We are all so excited for the new Baby Perotti! Here are the cool pictures!
I'm the Big Brother!

August...Where did you go?

Stuff we did...Yes its late. I have been scrapbooking like crazy lately and ignoring my blog. Sorry!

Had Josh's Birthday. Happy 29!
I made him an ice cream cake (which he doesn't like). Oops.

Drove a boat. So Fun!

Ate some sweet corn. Yummy!

Drove a walker. Vroom! Vroom! This kid really needs a car!

Went to our 10 year Reunion. This is the only picture I took. I was lazy.

Learned how to eat crayons, I mean color.

Lost my shoes. I left one at Grandma's and misplaced the other. I wore this special pair for a week until we found it hidden in my room.

Look at that little belly. I think that I was too lazy and have no stomach muscles anymore and so that is why it is poking out so early. It probably helps my back to hurt too. Dang, you can't ever just be lazy!

Helped a Thor eat dog food. He just loves that dog!

Found a new ride...in the mega blocks. Comfy?

Look at those baby curls...

Got my first haircut. Awww!

He looks so grown up now! My baby!
