Its Almost Scarin' Time

I am so Stinkin' excited for Halloween! I just can't wait to get out our big box of decorations. Every year we get new scary stuff. Not that we need any more, but Josh loves it too so we kinda go crazy. We have talking skulls and wailing ghosts and spiders that drop on you and severed arms and rats in a trap and scary sounds and a fog machine (a tiny one) and more! AND we are having a PARTY! What is Halloween without a fun party with costumes and too many sweets? So, if you feel like driving to Colorado, I would LOVE to see you at our party. I am hoping for more than the 4 guests we got last year. It was double the amount of the year before! Anyway, it is on the 25th. OR you could just trick-or-treat our house. We love trick-or-treaters! We are the house in the middle, hidden between all the dark houses on our wierd little street. Ugh, can't they see that Halloween is the greatest!?

Even the little dogs get in on the action!

Handy Helper

I do not want to be whiny, but my hands HURT! I need some HELP! At his request, I have started to carry Rome around a lot. Especially in the afternoon when he is fussy and tired and I need to do things besides just rock him. So, he is really hot and sweaty and my hands get really hot and sweaty. Therefore, my hands are wet for hours every day. They started to hurt a little bit and it was annoying. Then, it got worse. My fingertips feel like I have been playing with fiberglass and have little splinters all over them. I don't want to do things or touch anything. I tried to write with a pen today and it hurt so bad! I tried putting on lots of lotion at night and letting it soak in. That didn't do much. I thought maybe I could get some gloves so I am not sweaty on him. My grandma suggested maybe to put baby powder on them. I don't know what else to do, I need some help here! I can't just stop holding my baby! Any ideas to help my hurting hands?

4 Months!

Yes is is true. Rome is now 4 months old! I really can't believe it. He feels so normal to have around now. I can't say he is always easy, but I LOVE him anyway. He is currently changing his schedule and I am having a hard time keeping up. That is to say, I am TIRED. He used to go to bed at 8 or 8:30, wake up to eat at 5:30 and then sleep in until 8 or 9. It was great! Now, he goes to sleep at 7, wakes up at 1 or 2 or 3 and then gets up for the day at 6:30. Yes, 6:30! I am not adjusting well. That is to say, I am CranKy. At his doctors appointment he weighed in at an enormous 17 lbs! Yes, 95th%. He was also 25 3/4 inches long (75th%) and his head was 17 inches (75th%). So, he is doing really well. I was worried only because he eats sooo stinkin fast. Only 5-6 minutes TOTAL. I have started giving him rice cereal which he Loves. Next comes the fun stuff. The grandparents are soo excited to share all of the culinary delights with you! He also has found his feet. He doesn't chew on them yet, but I am sure it will happen soon. He enjoys standing on your lap and sitting up with some help, though he does pretty well. He got his second round of shots at the doctors office, but we gave him Tylenol this time so it wasn't nearly as bad. The first time was awful! They didn't mention that he would feel terrible and scream all night! If you don't know, Rome has a huge crack. It goes up to his belly button! I asked his doctor about his little crack (or big one) and she agreed that it was unusually long, but very cute. That is great, but his diapers hardly work. He has a big belly so the front slides down and then his cute crack sticks out. I have a hard time keeping things IN the diaper and he has blow outs all of the time. I just hope he grows out of his long crack, or into it. On the plus side, he can't low ride his pants or he will definitely have plumbers crack. Haha!

Thanks Adri for the outfit, Look what I can do!

Rice Cereal, Yum!

Yuba Wonderful!

My family decided to make one last boating trip this summer. They all went down to Yuba State Park to camp (in the RV of course), wakeboard, tube and eat. I drove up Saturday morning to join them. Josh really wanted to go and bring our boat too, but he got sick so he stayed home. Rome had a great time. I forgot his lifejacket so he stayed in the RV and played on the grass. I went wakeboarding only a few times, but enough to get throughly sunburnt and sore everywhere. I also went on the tube. I remember telling dad to take it easy and be nice, but that is not what happened. I was waterburned on multiple occassions and could fall off of the huge mattress tube. I think you need shorts to stay on that thing. Finally dad eased up and we could do some tricks on the mattress. It was pretty funny. It was also a party for Chase's Birthday and we ate birthday watermelon, yum! It was a short trip, but so fun!
My mom got most of the pics, so they will come later.

Lazy...

It is almost 10 am, I have a dentist appointmentr at 11. i am not dressed yet, but i am in my seconf pair of pajamas thanks to the littleboy. i so need to do laundry, iam totally out of clothes. rome is fine, but he has an entire wardrobe of 3-6 month clothes that he just started wearing today ( he finally is not drowning in them, oh my growing boy) josh also has about 100 old t shirts to choose from se he is good. i haven't cleaned the dishe or the kitchen from dinner last night. i made pork ribs in the slow cooker and they were delicioud! dont ask me how i do it, i an constantl;y surprised. i did scrapbook last night and was overwhelmed by the things i have forgotten or put in a special place to do later and now cannot find. i read last night too. and feel guilty about it, ahh the days when i could read for hours and not feel bad that i should be doing other productive things. i desperately need to clean my bathroom. it has literally not been done in 3 months. gross! i will however clean the guest bathroom all the time. i dont want people to see how i actually live. i have not done all this, but i have checked my email twice. granted the first time was at 5 am waiting for the baby to go back to sleep after he threw up on me. i want to get a presnt ready for my brother/borthers to give him this wekkend. speaking of i don't think i ever gave a present to ty for his birthday either. i wrote this whole thing one handed while trying to ward off rome from pounding on the keyboard. i can no longer sit quietly and read the computer with him. he wants to push the buttons! Anyway i think he is tired and ready for his morning nap. maybe i will get dressed and be on time for my appointment. or maybe i will continue to be lazy...
