Big Day Baby

Yesterday was a BIG day at our house.
Josh was really excited.
I was a little apprehensive because I had planned a lot of activities.
Rome was tired because he missed his nap.
(If you want to skip to the news and pics at the bottom, I won't feel bad.)

Let's start with Dinner
I made a delicious chicken, broccoli and bacon quiche. Well, it was Bisquick. I didn't think Josh would like it because it was QUICHE (how ferret-y) and it had vegetables in it. Yes, they were covered in bacon and cheese. Well, Rome hated it, but Josh loved it. He even ate it again for breakfast. I think that was the best dinner I have made it a while. I thought it was quite tasty too.

Before Dinner
I was supposed to take the dogs to the vet to get their shots. I missed my appointment on Monday because I made it for nap time. Why would I do that? Anyway, I was still working on dinner. So, Josh offered to take them for me. Ahhh! Thank you Honey! He said they were great and didn't even complain when they had to get shots. Good dogs.
Except, Zeus has been puking since yesterday. Talk about Yuck. Thor will go outside or on the tile. Zeus just stays put and pukes everywhere. Poor sick doggy! But really gross.

Nap Time
Josh stayed home with Rome who did not want to sleep. I put him down at 2 and he cried until Josh got him up again. He finally got him to sleep at 3 or 3:30. So, at least he got a little nap. I went to my second Physical Therapy appointment. It was with a different office this time. They said they will work with my insurance which is great because THEY are being difficult. I have called the insurance number so many times in the last few weeks that I almost know my account number by heart. This new office is the second PT office that I finally got out of them. They only gave me one choice (who I saw before) and she is too busy to fit me in. No good for physical therapy. Anywho, this new lady was so super great! She figured out what was wrong, gave me easy things to do and then adjusted me (which totally felt like a massage) so I feel completely better! Plus, she said if it helps and doesn't move again then I will only have to see her once or twice. Great, less to pay the insurance and I feel better. Well, I messed it up today, but I felt normal, with no pain, for a good 4 hours yesterday. I am so impressed and I currently love her!

Lunch Time
We got home really late. Rome was really hungry and cranky. I ate leftover homemade pizza. Rome picked at his meal. Go figure. He is starving, but not going to really eat.

Morning
We got up, ate breakfast. I got to shower.
Wait, wait! I missed something. Oh, yea, my doctor's appointment. It was supposed to be at 10:30 so we left at 10. We got there early and waited. The toys were not in the lobby. Rome was tired because 10 is usually nap time. And we waited some more. I got out my emergency fruit snacks and then after 45 minutes we got to go wait in a room. At least the toys were there. We finally got our turn for the ultrasound room. Rome was in meltdown mode and wanted Mommy. Not even a sucker could make him happy. He cried almost the whole time. I got to see all kinds of blurry baby stuff. Little one was not cooperating. We did get some pics, but not very good. Poor Josh had to hold a crying Rome. He pretty much missed the whole blurry awesome-ness of ultrasound-ing. We are all so excited for the new Baby Perotti! Here are the cool pictures!

I'm the Little Sister!
The lines are in there somewhere.

Coupon Craziness

Lately, I have gotten into coupons. I always used them, but I didn't try very hard. Well, this lady in my ward has a coupon blog and updates the sales and coupons. It is pretty cool. I check her out and do my e-coupons and sometimes get free stuff. Way cool! Well last week I bought cereal with my coupons and I spent way too much money. Pooh. I am obviously not very good at this yet. When I went back and added it all up it wasn't too bad, at least for the cereal. I got 10 boxes of Kellogg's cereal and it would have been $37, but with my coupons (and $10 rebate I am waiting on) it was $17. Pretty darn good!
This week, I was going to use what coupons were on sale. I usually only look at the City Market sales because I don't go to the other stores. For some reason, I read the other store sales and it is lucky that I did. Safeway had all of the stuff on sale that I had coupons for. Almost every one! Plus, some stuff I just needed was on sale for cheaper that at City Market. Super! I still spent too much money, but we do not need to buy cereal for a long, long time. Plus, I love their reciepts. It shows what their sale price was, what I saved from the savers card and what manf. coupons and e-coupons were on each product. They also doubled coupons automatically, great! So, easy for me to read and see my savings. I am glad I spent 2 hours online just trying to figure out my coupons and get all of the e-coupons and printables ready. I still spent $100 on groceries, but I saved $67. Pretty good for my first time at a new grocery store.

Yellowstone Again

We went up to Yellowstone to the cabin to see family and play.

We started with green yogurt in his hair. Somehow whenever we have to go somewhere he decides to make a mess.

We rolled around with the puppy.

We saw the bears. Rome loved them. He was having separation anxiety issues.

We ate s'mores, Yum! Barbara, I really didn't mean to take a weird pic of you!

We saw a cool waterfall.

I know there is a fence, but this picture just freaks me out.

What I Did Last Night

I was craving Molten Lava Cake, but I didn't have the stuff. Then, I thought of Boston Cream Pie and that sounded delicious too. But what do you do when you don't have 2 round cake pans, or cream or patience? You make do. I am good at that.
Here is what I came up with. Chocolate Fudge cake (from a mix) baked in a 13x9 pan and cut in half. I even did it right and put the slightly smaller half on top. Instant chocolate pudding for filling(yay for Kroger brand with no yellow!). Topped with half a tub of milk chocolate frosting(I found one kind that has no food coloring, yay!) I put an apple on the top with sprinkles to make it look pretty. Everything tastes better when it looks pretty.

Looks fabulous! It was tasty too! Mmm, chocolate cravings satisfied for today.

Food Mishaps

I wanted to make peach salsa out of these delicious *free* peaches because we didn't find any at the peach festival.

Well, we did but it was just regular salsa. Boring. Anyway there is this guy down the street with 3 peach trees filled with fruit that he doesn't want. So, we asked and he said we could pick them. Cool, free peaches! They are good too! Anyway, I found a bunch of recipes on the internet for peach salsa, but I didn't know if they were good or not.

So, I got all ready and was going to try a few of them. First one...Gross! Tasted like eating green peppers. Second one...tasted too sweet with tomatoes and peaches. So, I gave up and made chunky peach jam. I gave it away and only kept a little for me. Oops! It was good too! So much for peach salsa.
Next...
Ever tried to make bread out of this
or
I have had it before and it was good and it is supposed to be really easy. Well, I tried it out and this is what I got.

Looks tasty right? Wrong! It was so nasty! I thought the whatever in the beer was supposed to make the bread all nice and moist and yummy. Umm, no. It was very dry and crumbly and bitter. Yuck. I would definitely not do this again. Next time I will just throw the stuff away.

August...Where did you go?

Stuff we did...Yes its late. I have been scrapbooking like crazy lately and ignoring my blog. Sorry!

Had Josh's Birthday. Happy 29!
I made him an ice cream cake (which he doesn't like). Oops.

Drove a boat. So Fun!

Ate some sweet corn. Yummy!

Drove a walker. Vroom! Vroom! This kid really needs a car!

Went to our 10 year Reunion. This is the only picture I took. I was lazy.

Learned how to eat crayons, I mean color.

Lost my shoes. I left one at Grandma's and misplaced the other. I wore this special pair for a week until we found it hidden in my room.

Look at that little belly. I think that I was too lazy and have no stomach muscles anymore and so that is why it is poking out so early. It probably helps my back to hurt too. Dang, you can't ever just be lazy!

Helped a Thor eat dog food. He just loves that dog!

Found a new ride...in the mega blocks. Comfy?

Look at those baby curls...

Got my first haircut. Awww!

He looks so grown up now! My baby!

Mama's New Toy

We have done lots of fun things, but this week we went up to Utah so Josh could see the Utes play football. I got to hang out with Lacey at the Mall. A REAL one with two stories and tons of stores. It was fun! Also, I got this new toy. I traded in my old stroller that was wobbly (um, thanks Grandpa) and got this cool new one. It is supposed to be for Christmas, but I don't have the other one, so I HAD to open it. Right? Anyway, it is so neat. It has two seats and when Rome doesn't want to ride anymore, I can take off the back seat and it turns into a sit and stand stroller. So Cool! Josh doesn't agree, but what does he know about carrying around two kids?

Rome really likes playing with the wheels when it is folded. Fun for everyone!

Mind Junk

Thoughts roaming my brain lately...

I don't even want to do this post, but I have about 20 that I have wanted to do but skipped because the pics are still on my camera and I don't want to work to get them off.

I really want to just sit and scrapbook for hours and hours. I have the pictures, I have the paper, I can still reach the table, I can even find a couple of hours at night to just sit there. If only my back would cooperate and not kill me after doing so.

It also doesn't like it when I wash dishes or stand in the kitchen for too long cooking, or going on walks or picking up the house or playing with Rome or sometimes sleeping. I am currently not friends with my lower back.

I have a physical therapy appointment for it next week sometime. I am really hoping it helps a little. Or maybe I can find a Yoga class and that might help.

I think it is waaay too early for this kind of PAIN. I am not even half way yet. It is the messing with my sleep that gets me. I should be able to sleep right now. That part comes later. LATER!

I am trying not to complain about being pregnant. Pregnancy is not nice to me. I am happy and excited for my big ultrasound and for the baby to come in February. I am just having a hard time finding it right now. I am trying not to be grumpy when I feel tired and grumpy. Isn't it weird how you can BE happy and not FEEL happy at the same time.

I am currently trying to change Romes naps. He sleeps way to long in the morning and none in the afternoon. So, he has been going to bed later at night which sometimes works to have him sleep in, take a short nap in the morning and a long one in the afternoon. Or else he still gets up early, takes an hour nap in the morning, none in the afternoon and is cranky all day! We will keep working on it, but every day I think: Should I lay him down? Should I keep him up? Should I wake him early? Will he sleep later? Can I handle him this tired? Do I have an activity to distract him? If I give him fruit snacks will he stay awake? Crazy stuff, I know.

Rome has become a picky eater. I know it is the age, but I just don't know what to feed the kid. Some days he will eat cheese and cheerios and bread and others he won't eat anything. Milk, the kid loves milk. I try not to worry about it because at least he drank some milk. Mealtimes have become frustrating again.

He wants to sit at the big table. I don't like this idea yet. He mostly plays when he eats and I like him to play with his food in his high chair. I don't need food all over the table. Better to have it on the floor where the dogs can clean it up.

Speaking of floors, mine are disgusting. I want to sweep and vacuum, but mopping is way beyond me. Therefore, the floors are disgusting. I feel better knowing Rome is not crawling on them anymore.

We took our house off the market. Josh's company is going really slow. We hope it picks back up next April and maybe we can try again. At least I don't have to keep everything super clean anymore. Lucky, because it wasn't staying that way.

Hmmm, I should go call people or wake up Rome or clean something. Yea, maybe later.
