Buried Treasure

This last two weeks we have been un-packing our garage. We decided we won't be moving any time soon, so we should put all our stuff back in the house. Then, we decided to have a garage sale. So, I have been unpacking and going through all of our extra stuff. Scrapbooks, sheets and blankets, trinkets and picture frames. I found all kinds of stuff I don't remember packing up over a year ago. Wow! That is really scary!
Anyway, I found these poems that I wrote sometime in High School. I think they are so funny. I wanted to share. Enjoy.

The cheesiest love poem ever
I caught a flutterbug
kind of like a cold.
I give part of him to everyone
and he never gets too old.
A certain person made him come to me.
I hope that person has one too.
Because when we are together,
then both of them are free.
This little flutterbug
He squeezed into my heart.
And I hope that him and me
will never have to part.
Because he brings with him a something,
it's harder to describe,
than anything I ever have,
He makes me feel alive.
He makes me think I'm special.
It's hard to understand.
He makes me think that I might have
the world inside my hand.
I could wish for anything.
He wouldn't mind a bit.
Just go and work his butt off
and try to get me it.
What strange bug is this?
Though I love him so.
I wish that he would stay forever
because I will hate to see him go.
What a lovely feel, my friend!
I do hope that you know.
For if you don't, you miss a lot
from his warm caressing glow.
I think that I am with you,
for I don't really have him yet.
Yes, I did tell you a lie.
For that I do regret.
But, I know that he is coming
at some far and foggy date.
I know that he will be here,
and for that I cannot wait.
Because the lonely stars are falling
into my darkened sky.
And some dewy tears are being found
upon my closed shut eye.
And I keep falling farther
than I could ever think.
And a thought comes to me
that I might never fly.
but, it is not that way
I'm not quite so sad,
because my dear friends
keep me from feeling bad.
Also, I can see some of them
with flutterbys; not flutterbugs you see.
Because flutterbys must stop and rest
and flutterbugs Always Fly.
Flutterbys are earthly
and die when we do.
But flutterbugs are forever
and will always stay with me and you.

My world is a spinnin
and I aint a winnin
All I think about is you
All I can think about is you
If I get you out of my mind
The rest of my world is fine
When I first met you
I did my homework
and went to bed.

When I'm a stranger in my own room
and I want to assume
that I am falling away.
When I start to wonderin
why I'm alive,
I grab my keys and drive.
I find myself in your place
and I just wish that I could,
could see your face.

(These were for Josh, so a little older)
Wish You Were Here
The weather's nice
Its paradise,
summertime all year.
Some folks we know
they say hello.
I miss you so.
Wish you were here.
The worst part is having
you here, in my place.
Then, when you're gone,
it feels so strange.
Like you're missing.
I just want to cry
I have no energy
Maybe you know how it feels
In a world full of tears

You are my life
You are my soul
You are my faith
When I get cold
You are my strength
You are my pride
and in your glance
No need to hide
You are my freedom
You are my friend
You're the beginning
and you're the end
You are my love
You are my voice
I would not leave you
If I had the choice
You are the ivy
On my brick wall
You're a Picasso
You are my all
You may not know it
But truth is told
That I will love you
Till time gets old.

Big Loser? No?

When Rome was about 5 months old I joined Clare in her Biggest Loser workout to get in shape. It worked out so well that I thought I would do it again. Plus, I am soooo tired of my clothes not fitting. Even my fat clothes are just a bit too tight. It drives me nuts!
Well, Josh decided he should get in shape and eat healthy too. He got sick and lost 10 lbs and hasn't done anything else. His biggest contibution is not complaining when I serve vegetables or salad with dinner. Way to go honey. Don't go overboard or anything.
I, on the other hand, am trying to go walking 2-3 times a week, eat more veggies and fruits, and not eat too much chocolate or cookies. Josh yells at me when I make them, so I stared hiding them in the fridge. Then, he asks why I am hiding the cookies from him. Hmm, is this a trick question?
Anyway, I am only 2 weeks in. It is tough to go walking at all. I am so tired and it keeps getting hotter. And Josh is no help, so I am so NOT motivated. I am a little less hungry, but I have to keep eating snacks to keep my milk up. Just good snacks. I don't feel like I am getting anywhere yet, but I think I might have lost 2 lbs. Maybe. My scale is off by 1-3 lbs, so I have to guess. I like to round down. Only 25 more to go! I really want to fit into my clothes by the time it gets cold. I don't want to be wearing maternity clothes because they are the only thing I own that fits. Ugh! Wish me luck!

2 Years...Oh My!

Yup, that's right. Rome is Two! He is such a fun little kid. He is still such a Mommas boy. I like it, but it makes things difficult sometimes. He as quickly learning new words and even sentences. His first one was at bedtime one night and he said, "I go out dare say ni-night daddy." Pretty good! I started this list a couple months ago and he says waaaay more already. My favorite is "I trazy tid." Yea buddy, you are. He really keeps us busy and on our toes. Ahhh, I just love that boy!
Some of these are easy and some are funny, but really this list is just for me.

He will say he is doing something 'ah kay' and if you say OK, he will do it. You really have to listen to what he says he is doing. "I go outside wit Zeus, ah kay."
He likes the letter I and things are scared and in trouble a lot. (I promise he didn't get that from me! It was in a book!)
He says "ah-no" or "oh-yea" to answer questions and "oh" for I don't know
"you say dat" to copy him and say whatever he is talking about, makes for funny conversations

3 Months Old

I can't believe it has been 3 months already! It has really flown by. Capri is getting so big and doing all kinds of new things. When we went to the doctor for sickness week she was 11 lbs and 12 oz. Almost into size 2 diapers, yay! She is just such a skinny minnie. She still wears most of her newborn pants and is barely into her 3 month clothes. Oh well, they will be well used. This week has been big. She learned to roll over, blow raspberries and she found her feet! She is loving playing on the floor, on her tummy or back, but has a hard time staying in one place. She just keeps rolling until she hits something. Rome never did that. He hated rolling over. She is such a happy baby and smiles all the time. She sometimes giggles in her sleep which is just so sweet! She is sleeping pretty well. She takes 3-4 naps during the day, goes to bed with Rome around 8 pm and then gets up 1-2 times in the night. She just moved out of our room and in with Rome and he has already learned to sleep through night feedings. Great! I am amazed that I get an hour or two to do whatever I want at night. I don't usually do anything, I am just not used to it yet. Hopefully I can get back into scrapbooking or sewing or any Mommy time. Having 2 kids is hard. Its lucky they are so darn cute. I just love them!

May Fun

Tummy time is fun when you can talk to yourself

Being a good Big Brother and helping Capri play with her toys, well she is a bit small still

We drove down to Tucson and stayed at the Grand Canyon on the way down. I have never been and so it was my Mother's Day present. It was kinda cold and windy, but I saw it. Yay!

Lucky he couldn't see over the wall. He decided he was afraid of heights a couple days before we left. Fun.

It was really windy, poor Capri!
