Today's Favorite

Or Cupcakes to the rescue! I have been having a hard couple of days. I have to keep the house pretty 24/7 so people can come and see it. Which means that I feel like I can't do anything! I can't bake, it's messy. I can't let Rome play, it gets everywhere. I can't scrapbook, it is all packed away. It has made me very "irritable" as Josh puts it. All I do is watch TV and pick up everything right when Rome puts it down. Seriously, not very fun. Well, last night I decided to make cupcakes. I love cupcakes and while I was in SLC I got this great book. It was at Anthropologie. I spent way too much time in there (more than an hour) for the amount of things I could actually purchase (very little). I was with Alexa and she could and did purchase enough to cover me. Anyway, I found this book called Cupcake Heaven. I leafed through it and about 3/4 of the way I decided I Had to Have It! It is so great! It uses normal ingredients, tells you how to decorate, and the recipies only make 12 cupcakes. Perfect for a late night baking fix! I made the dark chocolate celebration cupcakes. They only took me under an hour to make and decorate. I am sure a normal person could do them in 30 minutes or so. They were so delicious! I feel so much better now.

Yard Work Is Not For Sissies

I did some today. Yard work that is. Josh has really bad allergies and I felt bad for him so we made a deal. He does dishes for a week and I mow the lawn. Pretty good deal huh? I fed Rome breakfast and then Josh played with him while I went out and mowed the lawn. Not too tough. Then, I used the weed whacker. I have never used one before and it is hard. I used it everywhere and ran it until it was out of gas. Now, I can barely use my hands and my arms are killing me. I have welts from the mean grass hitting my legs and one even cut my foot! Seriously, yard work is not for sissies. And I am kind of a sissy.

Things To Do

I have lots of things to do today. Well, lots of things I want to do, none of which are really getting done. I am waiting for Mr. Baby to wake up from his nap which he took very unhappily. Therefor, I am not doing anything because I know I will start something and be nearly done when he wakes up and then I will not be able to finish. I hate that. It makes me unhappy at the little guy and it is not really his fault. He just wants a Mommy play toy, aaaallll daaaayyy looonnng. It does not help that I left him for 3 days with Grandma while we went to Vegas for our anniversary. Now he thinks I am going to leave every 3 seconds. This makes him a very clingy monkey. I love you little Rome, but I think I need to get out more.

Things I want to get done:

figure out how to put pics from my camera on our new mac
figure out how to put videos on our new mac
edit both
try to put pics and video on my blog for everyone to see thier cuteness
blog about Rome's party, vegas and our house beautimousness
clean everything that got dirty the second we got home so it looks good for the 2, I mean 3 showings today
leave the house with the dogs during lunch and dinner for showings (why do they have to come during meals?) and nap time (seriously?)
write thanks yous for everyone who helped with the house and came to the party and watched my dogs while we were gone
do laundry someday
shower CHECK! well at least I got one thing done already, Yay! for naps

Craziness

I had a totally crazy day today. It started out really early because Rome got up at 5:45 and he did not want to go back to sleep. It was okay because I got up and got ready for church. I was only a little late, but showed up at the church building at 9:00. Perfect, except nobody else was there. I stayed home last week because Rome was sick and missed the announcement of Stake Conference this week. Stinky. Well, Rome was asleep so I drove home and he woke up right when I pulled in the garage. Pooh. Again, he would not go back to sleep. Dang, no nap. The rest of the morning was spent playing with a tired baby and trying to convince him to go to sleep. He finally took a nap at 1 pm. Ahh, quiet time. He woke up when I wanted to start dinner at 3. I was supposed to make dinner for my friend Elise because her family had to move suddenly. I gave myself plenty of time to make cookies and Tater-Tot Casserole for her and then Tacos for Josh and me. I was supposed to bring the dinner over around 6, but I didn't know her address. I called about 10 people and they either weren't there or didn't know. I finally got one lady who told me the general area of her new house, but not the exact address. I said fine and got in the car because by now it was 5:45. I was getting a little anxious. I had to take an unhappy Rome because Josh was busy. On my way out the door, I looked in my cell phone and I had an entry for Elise Cell. Wonderful, I thought. I called it, no answer, left a message. No problem, I can totally find their new house. I drive around, and around. I call the one person I know. I call Josh to get more numbers. I call Elise Cell. Nothing. At 6:10 I get a hold of the lady who gave the vague directions to start with and she is going to make some calls and call me back. Great. I am freaking out by now. My friend is going to be pulling her hair out with 3 starving kids and all I want to do is find her house and give her dinner. I feel like crying. I start driving through the neighborhood looking for her car, like I can recognize it and find her house that way. I even thought about just yelling out of the car for her. It was a pretty small neighborhood, but I would have sounded pretty crazy. The lady finally calls me back and tells me that her house is right around the corner. Yes! I drive there, park, and get the dinner out of my car and my phone rings. It is Elise Cell. Cool. I answer and tell her I am right outside and have her dinner. She asks me why I am bringing her dinner and says she is at her apartment, but she was sleeping at her mom's house. What!? I am at your house, this lady just told me your address. I have been going nuts trying to find it. I am standing on the doorstep completely confused when it dawns on me... I am talking to my cousin. I have a cousin, named Elise. I quickly hung up and rang the doorbell to drop off the dinner to my FRIEND Elise. I had to explain because I was laughing so much. I then had to call my COUSIN Elise and apologize for calling her ump-tine times trying to bring her dinner. It was pretty funny. I have since changed to my phone entry to say Cousin Elise so it won't happen again. It definitely helped my mood. I think I have been stressing way too much lately.

Snobby or Just Lazy

We got a new computer. I convinced Josh that he should buy it and try it out for a while before our big trip to SLC and Vegas. Yay! It usually never works. Anyway, we got an I-Mac. Crazy. We are totally not snobby Mac people like the commercials make them out to be. We are, however, really lazy people. You don't have to do virus scans on Macs, which is great because we have killed 2 computers by not doing them. Hope this one does better. I am still learning it because I am pretty busy packing everything so we can move everything before we move to stretch our carpet. It is not fun. I am glad Josh is not complaining about the computer anymore though.

Happy Birthday!

Baby Rome is One Year Old Today! It is really difficult to think of that much time passing. Oh, I love my little guy. He really was a booger today too. He must have known it was his birthday because he took wacky naps and wouldn't play and was a real stinker. Oh well. We are having a big party for him in Salt Lake next weekend.

He is not walking yet, but he could if he felt like it. His new thing is to pull faces. Josh thinks it is creepy, but I think it is hillarious! He does it all of the time just to make me laugh. What a silly kid! I took some good pics of it, but the computer is broken and I am scared to put any new pics on it. Anyway, I have so many favorite pics. It really is hard to pick just a couple. Oh, how my baby has grown!

I have tons more, but the computer keeps crashing. Pooh.

Broken

Our Computer Is Broken.
Yea, it stinks. Josh said it was doing weird things the last couple of days. I didn't notice until it deleted my e-mail. My entire e-mail. It said I had no inbox. No Inbox! That got my attention. It came back, but it was sca-ry.
And after that it has just not worked right. We tried to scan for viruses. Bad idea. We got a new virus scan. Another bad idea. Finally, we decided to just get off the stuff we wanted to save and erase the whole thing. Yea, we have been trying to do that for 2 days. We just got it to start NOT in safe mode so I could save my pictures to CDs. Ugh. I think it is time for a new computer. I may be off the internet for a while.
Honestly, I am amazed it has stayed on this long. For the last 4 days it has turned off after like 5 minutes. Just, blink, Off. Hmm, I like computers, but sometimes I just want to kick them.

Quote Of The Day

Today's quote comes from Josh who said, "oh, the bathroom is green." Yes, it has been for the last three years we have been living here. This was after I was telling him that I have to take down the wallpaper and am not going to paint it green. What a boy.

Second, from Josh, "you just don't have any love in your heart." A little dramatic if you ask me. This was because I told him that his job is to mow the lawn and I do not feel bad even though he gets allergies and sneezes a lot. I take care of the house and everything in it, he can mow the lawn. We were at Home Depot looking at lawn mowers because ours is having trouble, but he fixed it. So, now he is out mowing the lawn. I am sure I will hear about it soon.
