4 Months!

Yes is is true. Rome is now 4 months old! I really can't believe it. He feels so normal to have around now. I can't say he is always easy, but I LOVE him anyway. He is currently changing his schedule and I am having a hard time keeping up. That is to say, I am TIRED. He used to go to bed at 8 or 8:30, wake up to eat at 5:30 and then sleep in until 8 or 9. It was great! Now, he goes to sleep at 7, wakes up at 1 or 2 or 3 and then gets up for the day at 6:30. Yes, 6:30! I am not adjusting well. That is to say, I am CranKy. At his doctors appointment he weighed in at an enormous 17 lbs! Yes, 95th%. He was also 25 3/4 inches long (75th%) and his head was 17 inches (75th%). So, he is doing really well. I was worried only because he eats sooo stinkin fast. Only 5-6 minutes TOTAL. I have started giving him rice cereal which he Loves. Next comes the fun stuff. The grandparents are soo excited to share all of the culinary delights with you! He also has found his feet. He doesn't chew on them yet, but I am sure it will happen soon. He enjoys standing on your lap and sitting up with some help, though he does pretty well. He got his second round of shots at the doctors office, but we gave him Tylenol this time so it wasn't nearly as bad. The first time was awful! They didn't mention that he would feel terrible and scream all night! If you don't know, Rome has a huge crack. It goes up to his belly button! I asked his doctor about his little crack (or big one) and she agreed that it was unusually long, but very cute. That is great, but his diapers hardly work. He has a big belly so the front slides down and then his cute crack sticks out. I have a hard time keeping things IN the diaper and he has blow outs all of the time. I just hope he grows out of his long crack, or into it. On the plus side, he can't low ride his pants or he will definitely have plumbers crack. Haha!

Thanks Adri for the outfit, Look what I can do!

I hate to break it to you, but 6:30 is normal. I feel like I've slept in when it's 7:00 and the kids are still asleep! Eventually he'll sleep later and later. Before Emily was born Aidan would sleep until 8:00! That was really nice! I miss those days!

Congratulations on making it to four months! I can't believe he's that old already!

ha ha...it's blowout time. You can try a larger size of diapers and see if that helps. Although Malcolm went through a stage where he blew out everyday for a month! The rice cereal will help thicken it up so perhaps it won't happen as often.
